About
hiking kids has been providing memorable hiking day camps for children since 2016. Children of all ages are invited to join our summer program of guided hiking day camps around Vancouver, with a focus on the unique trails of Seymour and Cypress Provincial Parks.
Each destination is priced to give you excellent value for your money. Our goal is to make the kids' day hike an unforgettable experience. The hikes are guided by us personally. We take the participants to spectacular vistas over variable terrain (from light to slightly challenging) and you are free to participate in as many or as few hikes as you wish. Bring your siblings and friends to qualify for a FREE hike!
Our promise to you is that you will hike an adventure filled with laughter, joy and great company!
One of the best parts of any outdoor adventure is the people. We have met some of the nicest, most interesting children on our hikes and we invite you to join us. We are proud to say that many of our fellow little hikers return year after year.
The fact that we are a small, privately owned company allows us to pay particularly close attention to all the participating children and the details of our hikes. We treat you more as friends, rather than clients. Our desire is to offer your children the kind of hiking experience we would want for ourselves!
We look forward to our first hike together!
Ino Banesiu
As head of hiking kids, Ino spends at least half the year hiking with all of you! But her role as your hike leader is only one part of her contact with guests. By the time she is out hiking with you, you will feel like you are on the trails with a familiar friend. That’s because she will have already taken your reservation, prepared the logistics for the day hike and even arranged your possible ride to the meeting point. You will also quickly discover that her passion for hiking is infectious, and she is also the go-to source for where to find the best picture and picnic spots on the hikes! She prepares for her many hiking trips throughout the year with yoga, kangoo jumps classes and numerous bike rides.
Being a mother to a wonderful boy, a school supervising volunteer and a certified first aid and CPR hiker, Ino is more than happy to welcome your kids and accommodate their requests during her well organized outdoor adventures.

Eric Banesiu
Eric is the greatest motivation for all the hikes we're organizing. As a keen wanderer exploring many corners of the world, Eric has many hiking stories in his repertoire. Some of his achievements so far include: Eagle Bluffs, St. Mark's Summit, Grouse Grind, Mount Seymour (all 3 peaks), Stawamus Chief, Sea to Summit, and many more in Europe.
His successful hiking birthday party a few years back inspired me and my son to organize these summer camps and give a chance to children to discover the beauty of nature through hiking.

Here's what other people think of us...
Ino is the best expert to invite and guide you to Vancouver's wild mountain safely. We really enjoyed the adventure of the beautiful winter mountain with her.
The experience was amazing, I saw beautiful places. Ino is very kind definitely I’d take the hike again. If you’re looking for an adventure it is a good pick.
This is one great experience for me! Ino will give you good tips to overcome any hiking fears or doubts. I highly recommend this experience!
Ino was an awesome guide! She got in touch with me as soon as I booked to check on my hiking experience, preference and convenient meeting place. We went to Eagle Bluffs and it was a great experience despite the rain. I also enjoyed chatting with Ino about life in BC. Thanks Ino! Highly recommended!
It was nice. Ino was so nice and understanding. She will customize the route the way you want. I have fear of heights and it’s because of her encouragement I was able to finish the trip. Worth doing the hike.
We had an amazing hike with Ino and her dog Ziggy. From the moment we met we felt comfortable and safe. We had a great time and we got to know one another. Very enjoyable conversations and we also learned new things throughout the hike. Book this experience, you will have a wonderful time!
Hiking with Ino on Mount Seymour was so special! She was consistent in communication and a fantastic conversationalist. This hike was just what I needed and doing it with someone as warm and friendly as Ino made it even more soul-replenishing. There were some moments on the trail where it was a little slippery and she never hesitated to help me when I needed it. We even got some comfort food together afterwards which was an added bonus to the whole day. 10/10 and would recommend this experience with Ino to anybody!
A must do experience!!! Ino was very friendly and patient with my children. We had a wonderful hiking. I was with my three children (7, 12 and 16 yrs old). Ino made the experience interesting for all of them. Highly recommending her to everyone!!!
Awesome hike! A great opportunity to get away from the city dwelling and immerse oneself in nature. A rainy, but fun experience.
Very beautiful hike. Ino is super friendly and her pup is adorable. She was able to drop me off in downtown as well! Really nice gesture.
If you come to Vancouver, you must book with Ino. She is amazing and you will love your hike session.
We had an absolutely wonderful time. We spent the day laughing, talking and having a great time while hiking in the Lynn Headwaters and the 30ft pool, albeit the weather did not really cooperate, we had an absolutely wonderful time, and would heartily recommend the event.
Ino is so lovely and we had a great time together. We are not the most heavy hiking-oriented kind of people and we asked Ino if we could go around the water holes for photography and, if warm weather, to get into the amazingly clear water. She was flexible and we took beautiful pictures at the '30 foot pool.' It wasn't warm enough to go in. Then we asked for a coffee break and she took us at this gem of a cafe, all surrounded by nature. They had delicious food and sweets and we bought a couple of souvenirs from there too. Ino was super flexible and we very much enjoyed our outing. Highly recommended!
That was a fun hike to do with Ino. She knows a lot of hiking trails in the area. She's so passionate about it and it's fun to have some tips from her. Also we did meet another group from a friend of her, so we were like a big international group, United Nations represented. So, yeah, I recommend to you the hike, you will have a lot of fun ;)
Espectacular snow trail. The place is really beautiful. Be prepared to walk on the snow. You should bring snow boots unless it is summer season.
This experience was amazing! It was the most beautiful hike and Ino was a great guide. She was extremely accommodating with timing and picking the right hike. We would have had no idea what do to without her! Also, she brought along her pup which was an added bonus. The hike we did was challenging, but Ino knew we could do it and it was so fun. I would highly recommend the little excursion!
Ino is super nice hiking trip guide. She did not just do it by duty, but she loves what she does so you cannot see she gets tired even if she must hike every day. She made me feel comfortable and happy all hiking route. She explained to me all landscape and scenic of Vancouver, point out me where. I am so impressed with this hiking trip. Pick Ino and you will never regret.
It's a must do! Our son loved it and we did too. So beautiful! Ino was delightful and knowledgeable. Just a perfect morning!
Wow! What a day! We drove to Mt Seymour Park where we set off on a hike to ‘First Peak’. The hike itself is not an easy stroll and you’d need a fair level of fitness. Walking boots or shoes are also recommended as there was still a fair amount of snow on the mountain so was very slippery in parts. Ino was a great guide and even provided the (much needed) bug spray! She kept us moving without pushing too hard. Great for kids (my two are 11 and 14) and they really enjoyed it. Great value guided hike, about 6 hours in total, with an experienced and considerate guide. Couldn’t recommend Ino enough!
Ino was very friendly throughout the hike and her dog, Ziggy was very funny :)
Jederzeit gerne wieder! Perfekt!
Ino and her dog, Ziggy, were superb with kids. Our 7-year-old daughter enjoyed the hike so much she wanted to sign up again the next day! We highly recommend this experience.
Ino and Ziggy her dog were really good guides. Our children were very motivated to walk up the trail. I would recommend this tour.
She guided us in a very caring way so that my kid finally managed to end up hiking on the all trails to the top. Her dog was also so friendly that kids get fully motivated to walk with him all through the way to the top. It was sooo good experience.
Ino picked me up as my accommodation was en route, she chose a walk that would suit my footwear. It was a lovely walk and the company of Ino, her son and lovely dog added to my enjoyment. Will take my hiking boots next year so she can take me into the mountains.
Ino is experienced guide for outdoor tour, and specially design the trail for us, while we have senior and children. We really enjoy the scenic view of the mountain, giant trees and small waterfall along trail. It’s unique and memorable tour. Ino is so friendly, has a warm heart who was a genuine pleasure to be with. BTW, she is so nice to pick us up in our place and saving us a lot of traveling time. Highly recommend the tour.
